The VSF Team for 2016 includes many familiar faces, yacht experience, and an unrivalled collective level of wine knowledge including no fewer than 10 WSET Level 2 and 3 Certificates and 2 WSET Diplomas.
The VSF team is comprised of people who are permanently based in the South of France, Viareggio and Palma, and St Maarten for the entire winter season. This means that both our local knowledge is unparalleled and we have staff who speak French, Italian and Spanish, as well as English, Czech and Russian.
Our dedicated team are here from early morning 'til late at night, seven days a week during the season, to ensure that when you ask us to solve a problem for you it will be done as well as it is possible for it to be done. Our pride in what we do is matched only by our commitment.
Mum of two Leyla is a resident of Nice and originally from Russia, having lived in the Czech Republic and Switzerland in the meantime. With a hatful of useful languages and a committed and thorough attention to detail, Leyla is helping out with the administration side of the hectic VSF office, and it may well be her friendly voice you hear when you call. If so, then you can be assured that your order will be fulfilled to the most exacting of your guests’ requirements. In her spare time, Leyla enjoys fashion and textiles, both design and craft.
Thierry is VSF’s Finance Director, making sure that our suppliers’ bills are paid on time, and so are ours! A crucial part of the team and importantly a wine lover, Thierry has in fact been working on VSF’s accounts for many years. Our company has grown so much in the last few years, we now need him full time in-house.
Prior to being with VSF, Nigel spent more than 20 years in the wine trade, principally in the UK dealing with very fine wines. With this wealth of experience and knowledge, he can advise with authority on your wine needs and is also well placed to be aware of the service levels your guests expect. Nigel is a familiar face around the ports of the Riviera and will always go the extra mile to make a near impossible delivery happen!
Petr is one of the unsung heroes of the VSF team, always smiling, never complaining - he gets on with what needs doing and does it well. As this is usually the shopping for our provisioning orders, Petr’s dedication and enthusiasm is one of the reasons your order is complete and accurate and gets to you when you need it. Petr passed his WSET Level 2 Certificate last year with merit.
Canadian and something of an outdoors nut, in between trekking countryside, climbing mountains, and pitching tents on preposterously tiny outcrops of land, Chris manages the VSF warehouse and logistics team, ensuring you get what you want, when you need it. He passed his WSET Advanced Level 3 Certificate with merit.
Sarah has recently passed the most demanding WSET qualification, the Diploma, a two year distance course that requires extraordinary dedication and commitment. Sarah is also a very talented photographer – you have some of her work on your screen.
CC (as she is known), is a Swedish archaeology graduate, but has worked in hospitality and in the yachting industry both here in the South of France and in St Maarten in the Caribbean. She has a broad understanding of yacht crews’ needs and how important tight schedules are and will be out and about in the ports this season to ensure that VSF's customer service remains unbeaten. CC also has a good knowledge of wine having passed her WSET Level 3 Certificate.
From the Czech Republic, Šárka assists Petr in shopping and provisioning. Šárka and Petr are keen travellers and explorers and their knowledge of the Côte d'Azur would put many locals to shame. Petr and Šárka spent most of the winter helping out at our office in St Maarten where they were a big hit with colleagues and crew alike.
James is a long term resident of the French Riviera having lived and raised his family here for the past thirteen years. Knowing the area and the community so well, James will be helping to make sure your delivery arrives where and when you need it to! James has passed the WSET Level 2 Certificate.

Caroline has been working on and around boats for over 20 years, is a familiar face amongst the yachting community and has been an essential part of VSF Palma since its inception in 2006. We are a small team here in Mallorca and so Caroline’s roles are many, but whether driving, shopping or chasing an elusive provisioning item, she can be relied upon to effortlessly move up a gear when the going gets tough, and still deliver with a smile! Caroline is expanding her wine knowledge and has recently passed the WSET Level 2 course with distinction.
