ROD SMITH MW
Rod has passed the most demanding wine qualification there is, to become one of only 277 Masters of Wine in the world. The MW course has been running for fifty years and has only a 6% pass rate. He joined VSF early in 2007 having worked for Bollinger in the UK, and has, in addition to bringing unparalleled professional expertise to the team, has pushed for VSF to gain Approved Programme Provider status from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) so we can now offer these accredited courses alongside our VSF ones.
SARAH JAMESON
Sarah will be working her sixth season for VSF this year and her unrivalled professionalism is what keeps so many yacht staff coming back to VSF year in year out. Qualified for the WSET Advanced level with distinction, Sarah is not just knowledgeable about wine, but also the VSF guru on how to get them to where you may be in the world. Sarah is a very talented photographer – some of her work can be seen throughout this site and in our list.
ANDI KINNERSLEY
Andi has been a valued member of the VSF team for more than five years and is familiar with all the ports and the best ways to get there! He is a passionate wine lover, having been awarded a merit in his WSET Intermediate exam, and is more than able to advise in person and on the phone about all your wine needs.
MICHAELA PRÚCHOVÁ
VSF’s very own bouncing Czech helps organise our provisioning. Still smiling after a hard day’s shopping, which is not quite the every-girl’s-dream it seems, when it entails finding the last and only pot of Vegemite on the Côte d’Azur, Michaela’s good humour is an example to the rest of us.
GRAHAM MACLEOD
Graham is one of our team of drivers and therefore a very important link in the chain of getting what you need, where and when you need it. Always ready with an offer to help, Graham’s cheery demeanour - even when faced with a 6am start to beat the traffic to St Tropez - is typical of his attitude.
NIGEL DARBY
Prior to being with VSF, Nigel spent more than 20 years in the wine trade, principally in the UK dealing with very fine wines. He is well placed to be aware of the service levels your guests expect and can advise with authority on your wine needs. Nigel is a familiar face around the ports of the Riviera and will always go the extra mile to make a near impossible delivery happen!
CHRISSIE McCLATCHIE
Chrissie’s Australian accent will be familiar to many of you as it’s quite likely that she will be your first contact when calling the VSF office. Chrissie's wine knowledge continues to grow, and not only through dedicated personal 'experimentation' - she passed the WSET Intermediate course with distinction. Her unwavering dedication to making sure your order is correctly processed is one of the things that keeps VSF where we are.
CECILIA LINDSTROM
CC (as she is known), is a Swedish archaeology graduate, but has worked in hospitality and in the yachting industry both here in the South of France and in St Maarten in the Caribbean. She has a broad understanding of yacht crews' needs and how important tight schedules are and will be out and about in the ports this season to ensure that VSF's customer service remains unbeaten.
SHARON WILD
Sharon is an Australian with a background in wine. A noted taster on the Australian circuit, and half way through the Master of Wine qualification, Sharon has infectious enthusiasm and great knowledge of the wines we offer. Sharon will be helping out with some of the VSF wine courses in 2009.
KEIR MARSH
New daddy Keir is one of our drivers and plays a vital part in making sure the VSF machine functions from start to finish. Professional and dedicated, he manages not to get flustered by those occasions where a yacht had to move from one port to another and no-one told us.
