VSF WINE COURSES
We continue to stage our famous wine courses for yacht crews.
Led by
Rod Smith MW, by attending one of the VSF Introduction to Wine courses you will be introduced to the basics of tasting, grape varieties, regions, serving and food and wine matching. All in a convivial and - most importantly - FUN way!
OFFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS VSF was appointed last year as an Approved Programme Provider for the range of courses run by the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust). This means that we will be offering in stages the first three courses, each of which lead to an officially recognised professional qualification:
FOUNDATION The course covers all aspects of the fundamentals from how wine is made to storing and serving it, with an emphasis on the practical. After completing a short exam and set of tasting notes at the end of the day long course, you will receive - if successful - a globally recognised qualification. And it’s still huge fun!
INTERMEDIATE CERTIFICATE Building upon the Foundation course, the Intermediate Certificate delves further into the geography of the world of wine and will broaden your appreciation and understanding of all aspects of wine appreciation in an enjoyable and entertaining way.
ADVANCED CERTIFICATE A five day course (we aim to have a weekend break in the middle) that will leave your palate and mind wanting for nothing in wine terms. This is the academic standard of a UK 'A' Level and involves tasting around 120 wines and spirits from around the world. A great addition to your resumé and very rewarding. Having completed the Intermediate Certificate or a similar level wine qualification is essential for the Advanced course, as is pre-study beforehand.
